About our Jacksonville cat shelter

We are cat lovers who moved to Jacksonville, Florida, near NAS Jax, from Fort Lauderdale. We were shocked at the homeless cat population here, and we decided we wanted to help our furry friends any way we could. Cali, our tiny dwarf calico, is the spokeskitty and the heart of this little crew.

Our shelter is a real home with the run of the house: couches, windowsills, and all the soft places kitties love. We also keep a spare room for quarantines and anyone who needs a quieter, separate space while they settle or heal. Someday we hope to build a huge catio where cats can climb and nap in sunbeams.

Our mission

We want a kinder, safer Jacksonville for cats. Our main focus is younger kitties who are not feral yet. They wait with us for a fur-ever home, and we get them ready with spay or neuter and basic shots.

Older street cats who are mostly feral are often happiest outdoors. For them we help with TNR (trap, neuter, and return) when we can.

Most kitties leave us ready to go, already spayed or neutered with basic shots. Some are almost ready and just finishing that care. You can still apply, and some adopters pay the fee and pick kitty up from the vet when those visits are done. Adoption fees go toward spay or neuter and basic shots. If we bring kitty to you, that travel is part of the same fee. We can help with small medical needs when we can. We are a small cat shelter, not an emergency intake service. We do not take late night intakes or roadside emergencies.

Where we take our kitties

We usually take our kitties to River City Veterinary Hospital in Riverside. They are not affiliated with us. We just like them a whole lot. During their regular hours they can often help with urgent needs. After a kitty comes home with you, you can keep going there or pick a clinic that feels like family.
